Founded in 1992 by Michaël Amzalag et Mathias Augustyniak.
For over 30 years, the work of M/M (Paris) has defied categorisation.
As image thinkers and practioners, the duo has pushed the boundaries of graphic design with projects that lay at the intersection of various creative fields. M/M (Paris) understand their practice as a sustained production of signs — icons, indexes and symbols, as defined by philosopher Charles S. Peirce in the late 19th century — through which they construct a visual language that is both complex and exultant.
« Mathias Augustyniak and Michael Amzalag occupy a unique place in the international landscape of graphic design. In addition to developing a subtle political analysis of the signs of everyday life and its practices, they conduct a self-reflexive investigation of the capacities of graphic design itself. From the outset, M/M have gone beyond conventional boundaries to reconfigure and reactivate graphic design through their many collaborations. »
